In a country like India, as the income potential of a normal man grows, there increases a necessity to get a PAN card for filing income tax returns. But, some individuals get difficulty in applying for a PAN card. Some take help of representatives or agents to apply for PAN card, where the agent will charge service fee other than the Application fees. But, in place of going to an agent, you may apply for New PAN Card online and it is not much a difficult method.
You can submit an application for a new PAN card if you are already not having one. A new PAN will be assigned to you which is unique for everyone. If you have a PAN card, but you misplaced it, then you can apply for a duplicate card by filling up the request form online. But, the same PAN number will be allotted to you as you have earlier. No person is permitted to have more than one PAN card. If you want to make changes such as modifying the address for the PAN card, then you can make a request by filling up online application for it. Submitting the application form online and sending the documents via speed post
In the primary method, you can fill up the PAN card application online, check out the PAN Application charges and send the printed application with the valid document proofs via speed post to NSDL. The step by step guide for this method is given below:
Process to Apply For New PAN Card:
Visit this website: https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact.html and select “New PAN – Indian Citizen (Form 49A)” as shown below Image.
In this website, you will have to fill up your complete detail as Title, Last Name/Surname, First Name, Date of Birth, Email ID, Mobile Number and Captcha Code (human verification code) in online application form and pay the application charges of Rs.107. After you have done payment, you will receive an acknowledgement receipt with a particular acknowledgement number. Now, you have to take a print out of the system generated application with a distinctive acknowledgement number.
Valid document proofs that you have to deliver are as follows:
Identity proof: Voter Id, Aadhar card, and others as shown when filling up the application form (Any one of them is sufficient)
Address proof: For address proof, Voter Id, Aadhar card, and others as shown when filling up the application form (Any one of them is sufficient)
Proof of Date of Birth (DOB): Certificate of 10th class, certificate of DOB (provided by municipal authority), and others as shown when filling up the application form (Any one of them is sufficient)
Note: You can use Aadhar card as both identity proof as well as address proof.
Now, put together identity proof, address proof, and proof of DOB along with the print out of application of acknowledgement receipt. Attach the application with two passport size photos and sign on the application. Then you have to send these via speed post to the address given below:

Survey No. 997/8, Model Colony,
Near Deep Bungalow Chowk, Pune – 411016.
You will get your PAN card to the address mentioned in your PAN card application within 15 days after they got your documents.
Apply PAN Card Online completely without sending documents Via Speed Post

The below given method of applying for PAN card is the newest method of applying which provides the choice to get a PAN card without having the requirement of sending the documents via speed post. This is by verifying through Digital Signature (or) Aadhar based e-signature.
Digital signature certificate: Click Here to Browser settings for enabling Digital Signature (DSC).
Aadhar based e-signature: For this, you require having an Aadhar Number and a mobile number associated with Aadhar number is compulsory as you will get an OTP for authentication.
Application process:
Visit the website: https://www.onlineservices.nsdl.com/paam/endUserRegisterContact.html and click on “Apply Online” Tab and fill up your information. Here, you have to upload your Photo, sign, and identity proof online.
After that, it will ask you to choose one of the alternatives as described below:
(1) Submit digitally through e-KYC & e-Sign (Paperless).
(2) Submit scanned images through e-Sign.
(3) Forward application documents physically.
By choosing any one of the above alternatives you require paying the application fee of Rs.107 +Rs.8 (if you choose e-sign alternative).
Note: If you do not have a mobile number already associated with Aadhar number, then you cannot use the e-sign alternative.
If you use (1) and (2) option as mentioned above you do not require sending the documents through speed post as your identity has been authenticated using either Digital signature certificate or Aadhar based e- signature and you will get your PAN card within 15 days to the address that you given in your PAN card application.
